Let’s Do Something Positive !

UPDATE
Thank you to all of you who supported the idea and offered to help. With everybody's input we
are planning an interesting campaign to assure safe and effective help to the Iraqi orphans.
Participation in the planning is open to eveybody. If you're interested, please e-mail me.
Once the campaign is final and ready for launch, I will post that immediatly for your help and participation :)

I don’t know about you, but I’m tired of complaining about our political and social messes. I am also fed up with our narrow local focus. So, it’s time to broaden our scope and do something positive.

I don’t know Fernas, but I totally support his invitation to do something for the orphans in Iraq.

The story is not new:

But most reactions and actions I read about are from Western societies and institutions.

Ramadan is coming .. Let’s DO something !

I feel ashamed to comment especially after seeing the pics again...the first time I cried and felt so depressed!

I think we are all responsible as Arabs and Musims....we should do something to help these orphans and all orphans for that matter!

Dear Umm El3yal

Thank you very much for responding to my post. I visited your blog page and I learned extra information from what you have posted there. I am ready to support whatever suggestions you come up with regarding the subject. Also, I might be able to introduce the subject to some public figures to see their reaction in whether they agree to have some role in whatever campaign you have in mind.

If you don’t mind, I have a question:

Why we are communicating in English my dear?!

Best Wishes
Fernas

7akima love ..

Didn't mean to depress you :( I was hoping we can channel our depression and frustration in something positive.

Fernas dear,

thank you! I'm sorry about the English. I will be returning to Arabic soon. I just need the time to print the letters on my keyboard.

7modi el3ziz,

Mbarak 3laik elshahar :)

The problem is that el te7el6om without doing anything will lead us to depression, pessimism and frustration. With time we will give up or migrate:( Some issues, like those children's, are easier to address than others, like our situation in Kuwait.

Acheiving something on one front gives us the energy to go on fighting on the other :)

Is there anyone who is not impressed by this guy, Fernas?

Simply, he is the best. Although sometimes we disagree, only sometimes :)

you and Firnas are new discoveries to me! I think I'm adapting you two soon :)

Thank you for your visit.

Edrak dear, thank you for your kind complement :) I'm not sure you will like my writing after reading today's article. Many people do not share my views :))

Please feel free to copy anything you need. The blog is yours :) It would be great if you could help with some ideas.

Fernas is trying with the Kuwaiti Red Crecent which is great. But we need more of a national campaign especially that winter is coming soon for those poor souls.

I have initiated a club in Kuwait university after my graduation and i used to be the president. I will seek to contact them and work something out. I guess we have to contact al she2oon or start our new trend of bloggers collecting charity .. We can be more than only political ..
About you essays .. i didnt know u were a blogger but i read once an essay you wrote and i couldnt stop to say that this woman is highly standarized and your just rare to find and sadgeeney ana ma ajamel ..

Dear Edrak,

I don't think that getting the formal paper work for collecting donations is necessary. It will take forever and might cause uneccesary political tensions. We can work with existing organizations but with our own campaign as we did for Lebanon.

Once, for example, we get the KRC approval and trust we can use their bank account and their place for meetings and collecting non monetary donations. The same can be done with الخريجين ، الجمعية الطبية ، الصحافيين or any other body we can TRUST :)

As for my articles, I will depend on you to be my sounding board :) Whenever you read something you don't like or doesn't make sense please let me know :)

be sure that i will :)
We`ll see what we can do to those poor kids and i think establishing an account is the best thing to do at the least

This is a tragedy; a humanitarian issue and I commend you on spearheading this and support you 100%.

Muslims can use their Zakat and/or donate money.

Anyone who supports an orphan is a brother of our beloved Prophet P.B.U.H

Edrak dear, counting on you :)

Amer 3zizi, I was targeting Ramadan so we can benifit from the Zkat, but it seems that this is taking a much longer time to arrange. Will keep you posted.

Balalee6 Sir :) Thank you for your visist and Ramadan Kareem to you and all your loved ones.

White Wings love, great to hear from you :)
I am trying to organize something with some of the shabab el6ayeb :) Your participation and input is highly appreciate it.

Please let me know if you're interested in the planning :) Once we have a solid plan, the door will be open to all for participation.

Badran dear :) Thank you for your kind visit. Maksora w tbarid a7san min maksora o kharbana kilish :)

We can always address all issues on many front as we have multiple identities and duties. We have a national, Arabic, Islamic and Humanitarian roles to fullfil.

Actually the more we acheive on one from the more energy we will get to address the more stubborn issues ;)

White Wings love, thank you so much for your help. I will call you soon :)

Come on you should post something other than Ramadan kareem wa 3edkom mabarak.

UmmEl3yal said...

Anon dear, sorry about that ;)

It was not planned to be "ramadan mubarak" post. I was hoping to draw attention to the Iraqi orphans and then got busy with the details of the campaign.

A new post is coming soon!
